Mushroom Sauce


Mushrooms are so versatile and compliment meat or vegetarian dishes alike.

Personally i absolutely love mushrooms, i use them raw in salads, fried with onions and garlic to eat with eggs, big brown mushrooms to replace bread for a burger etc!

During the festive season we have countless braais and always have left over meat. These mushrooms can be made to make a different meal with the left overs.

Fry onions, garlic and mushrooms in some ghee or oil of your choice. When soft, turn on to low and add some coconut milk or cream. Pour over meat, or roasted veggies. I have made this into a dip / pate by taking the same mixture and blitzing ( add some salt and pepper to taste) and used it as a dip for Veggies.
