Meat Loaf




  • 500grams Beef mince
  • 1 large egg (for the mix)
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Worcester Sauce ( optional)
  • Onion, diced
  • Bacon ( to wrap or chop into the mince mix)
  • 1 small red pepper,diced
  • 3 hard-boiled eggs, peeled
  • Tomato sauce, or a few spoons of tinned tomatoes, optional
  • 3 or 4 eggs, hard boiled for the middle of the loaf.
  1. Preheat the oven to 180
  2. In a bowl whisk the egg, ketchup ( tomato) and worcester sauce together.
  3. Add the ground beef and all the rest of the ingredients except the hard-boiled eggs.
  4. Use a fork to mix it together just until combined.
  5. Line the loaf tin with Bacon or place half the mince mix into the tin and top with bacon. ( depends how much bacon you want to eat!)
  6. Add half  of the mince mix to the pan/loaf tin and press in so that half the tin is covered with the mince mix.
  7. Place the boiled eggs lengthwise on the meat and then spoon the rest of it on top.
  8. Use your hand to pat it into a loaf, gently packing it down around the eggs.
  9. You can spoon some tomato sauce or tinned tomato onto of the mince, ( i don’t)
  10. Place bacon on the top, or wrap the edges of the bacon used to line the tin over the mince mix.
  11. Bake 45 minutes. Let it sit 5 minutes before slicing.
